Questions

The things worth asking first.

How to make a gift, keep your work, share it privately and return when you need to.

Getting started

Choose a template, make it personal, and decide when to share.

What is Will You?

A way to make a personal digital gift: a couple website, letter, invitation, notes jar, bouquet, scratch surprise or voice keepsake. Choose a template, add your own words and details, preview it, then create a private link to send to your person.

Is it free?

All current digital templates are free to personalise, preview, save and share with Will You? branding. Optional link passwords, downloadable QR codes, expiry, view limits and revocation are included. No payment card is needed. The Pricing page explains the current offer.

Do I need an account before I start?

No. You can browse live previews and personalise a template without signing in. Sign in when you want to save it to My gifts or create a sharing link. Continue in the same browser tab so the editor can recover your work after sign-in.

Does the recipient need an account or an app?

No. An active gift link opens in a browser. If you added a password, they need that password too. They choose when to play sound and whether to reply. Joining a shared Couple Space is a separate account-based action.

Writing, saving and returning

Know where your work is saved before you leave.

How does the editor work?

The flow is Choose, Personalise, Preview, Share. On a phone, Edit your gift opens the editing sheet while the preview stays behind it. Check the recipient preview before sharing. Save draft stores the gift privately; Create private link saves and publishes that version. Nothing is messaged to the recipient automatically.

Is my draft saved automatically?

The editor keeps a recovery copy in this browser tab when browser storage is available. That helps with a refresh or returning from sign-in, but it is not the same as saving to your account. Use Save draft to keep a version in My gifts. The editor shows a warning if local recovery is unavailable.

Can I continue on another device?

A draft explicitly saved to your account can be reopened from My gifts after signing in on another device. Unsaved text and locally staged photos, video or recordings stay in the original browser tab. Save successfully before relying on a different device.

What happens to an unsaved recording or photo?

Media is staged locally while you edit and uploaded when you explicitly save or share. Where browser storage permits, the same tab can recover it after a refresh or sign-in. Closing the tab, clearing browser data or signing out can remove local recovery. Keep the original file, and follow any storage warning before leaving.

Can I undo a change?

Use Undo and Redo in the editor to move through recent edits in that editing session. Switching between Personalise, Preview and Share does not count as a content edit. A saved or recovered draft remains your starting point; undo history is not a permanent archive.

Can I change a gift after sharing it?

Published gifts are snapshots. Open the saved gift from My gifts and make an editable copy for a new version. Existing links keep the original gift. Share a new link for the changed version, and revoke an old link if you no longer want it available.

Can I schedule a message to be sent?

Will You? does not send the gift link automatically. If your editor offers a sealed-until date, it controls when that gift can open, not when a message is delivered. Choose a sharing expiry that leaves time after the opening date.

Private links and sharing

Access controls help, but a recipient can still save what they receive.

Who can open a private link?

Anyone with an active unprotected link can open it, including someone it is forwarded to. Putting it in a group chat makes it available to people in that group chat. Private gifts are not listed in the public catalogue or sitemap and ask search engines not to index them. Those signals do not replace access controls.

Can I add a password?

Yes. In Share, open Link settings and enter an optional password of 8–128 characters. Send it separately from the link. The password is not placed in the link, WhatsApp message or QR code, and Will You? cannot show it again. If you forget it, revoke that link and create another with a new password.

Why can I not see a link I made earlier?

A new link address is shown only when it is created. Copy it, share it or download its QR code before hiding it or leaving. Link history stores access settings and status, not a recoverable raw address. If you need another address, create a new link; revoke the previous one if it should stop working.

How do I share on WhatsApp or print a QR code?

After creating a link, use Share on WhatsApp to open a message containing the link, or copy it into a conversation yourself. You decide whether to send the message. Open Download a QR code to save a PNG image or an SVG print file. The QR follows the same password, expiry and revocation settings as the link.

How do I revoke a link?

Open My gifts, find the gift and choose Manage private links. Select Revoke link and confirm. That address and any QR code made from it stop opening the gift. Revoking a link cannot erase screenshots, downloads or content somebody has already seen. Your saved gift stays in My gifts.

How long does a link work?

It works while active under the expiry and view limit you chose, unless it is revoked or the gift is deleted. Until revoked means there is no scheduled expiry; it is not a lifetime hosting promise. Keep your own copy of anything you would not want to lose.

Can the recipient reply?

Recipients can send a heart or a short note without an account, up to 20 times per link. You can read replies in My gifts. A reply does not use another view. A response is optional, and opening the page is not a response.

Does a view count tell me who read it?

No. A website can optionally show aggregate page opens, including repeat opens. This is not a list of people, a live audience count or proof that somebody read every word. An unlimited link without that option does not provide read receipts.

Accounts and your data

Recovery and deletion have different jobs from link revocation.

How do I recover my account?

Keep the one-time recovery codes offered when you create a password account. Save them somewhere private; each code can be used once to set a new password. The sign-in flow has a Use a recovery code option. Email reset links depend on email delivery being available. Confirming an email address by itself is not a backup recovery method.

Why is an account or email option unavailable?

The app checks which account services are connected. If account creation is paused, its page says so. If email reset or email sign-in is unavailable, use an existing password or a saved recovery code where offered. There is no need to keep requesting a message the app says it cannot send.

Is my content end-to-end encrypted?

No. Content is stored by the service so it can be delivered to the recipient, and access is controlled by accounts and private links. Do not treat it as an end-to-end encrypted messenger. The Privacy page explains storage, processing and service providers.

How do I delete a gift or account?

Delete individual gifts or revoke their links when you want that content to stop opening. Requesting account deletion locks the account and starts a 30-day recovery window before identifying account details are removed. Shared relationship history may remain for the other partner. Account deletion is not a substitute for revoking links; see the Privacy page for the full retention details.

What happens if we stop sharing a Couple Space?

Either partner can leave the shared connection. Leaving does not erase content already seen, exported or held by the other person, and it does not revoke separate gift links. Review those links in My gifts and keep your own copy of memories you want before changing access.

Optional extras and limits

What the current launch includes, and what it does not promise.

Can I pay to remove Will You? branding?

That is being prepared as an optional purchase for one saved gift. It is not on sale at launch, and no public purchase price is set. Core creation and sharing remain free with branding. If a future option becomes available, its exact price and scope will be shown before checkout.

Are custom domains or physical gifts included?

No domain registration or physical product is included in the free digital collection. A domain you buy from a registrar has its own cost, and connecting one depends on the hosting integration being available. Do not place a physical order unless an available product and its terms are explicitly offered.

Are my gifts backed up?

There is no backup guarantee yet. Keep your own copy of irreplaceable text, photos, video and voice recordings. A saved gift, a browser recovery copy and a QR code serve different purposes; none is a promise of permanent storage.
